Subject: Hunting Trophies

Hi All
just a quick line to everyone involved saying thanks for your help in the great Anglo-South African adventure !  Bar one hiccup with the Warthog tusks, everything ran so smoothly, efficiently, and far quicker than I expected.  The trophies are now mounted in my 'study' and look fantastic (not too overpowering for a small suburban flat in London !).

Again, thanks to:

Dorea for feeding me and ensuring I was never too far from alcohol & coffee
Daniel for his patience and ensuring that I was pointed in the right direction when he found something for me to shoot at
Jan for his taxidermy work - I was really impressed with how good that Wildebeest mounting turned out, and was amazed at the hide which came up looking soooo good (such a beautiful colour compared to when I last saw it covered in mud and grease).
Debbie for for arranging the air freight - damn, that was well packed !

And a little pat on the back to me for shooting straight.

Am already intending a second trip out in 2014, so will be in touch

I have received the shipment of my trophies minus the bontebok and everything has arrived in excellent condition.  Thank you for your assistance. 

You advised the bontebok was stored in your warehouse and I am proceeding with Maria Felix to obtain a permit to import it into the United States.

Would you please contact Josef at Black Bear and arrange for them to re-crate the bontebok so it will be ready for shipment once we obtain the necessary permit.

I would like to second Ron’s comment given previously on the receiving our trophies from our safari taken last year. I would like to commend the care taken in beginning with the field care of the trophies, the tanning and excellent work at the taxidermist, facilitating the shipments from SA, and finally getting these trophies through all the government hoops in Chicago and getting them to Midland safely. In addition to the getting the trophies, I would like to thank all of you on your good communication with my many questions. Being this my first time, I had many questions along the way with different elements of this process and you all very good in giving timely feedback. After this experience, I would recommend each of you to others who will be going to SA on safari as well.

Hello again Debbie,
    Good news!   The shipment arrived in Edmonton on the 12th of May, or at least it cleared customs on that date.  I picked it up from our broker on the 13th and we had a "crate opening party" on the 15th.   All the skulls and horns seem to have made it intact, with the possible exception of the smaller Gemsbok which seemed to have the left attachment to the skull damaged. This may very well have been long before you, or the shipper, got the animal.
    The hides are all present and accounted for also, although we did not try to unfold them as they appear to be a little brittle. We will have them delivered to our local tannery that deals with exotic animal skins as soon as possible.

Thanks again for all your help.  Will definitely use your services again!

Hello Gerri,

We are pleased to advise we loaded Art’s trophies today into the seafreight container . 

The shipment  will be departing on the Msc Jenny V N015   on 14 th May and eta in New York 04th June 2011  - 

The clearance and delivery will take approx 10 – 15  days depending on  customs and other government releases.

Hi everyone, thought I would drop a line and let you know that I received the shipment from the taxidermist.  The trophies arrived on Tuesday, March 8, at Los Angeles Freight.  I picked them up that day and uncrated it on Friday.

My Buddies were very impressed with the quality of the mounts and the care in packaging.  Those guys certainly know what they are doing.
